Today I’m taking a crack at a big-time favorite among many of my readers – Sour Patch Kids. I’d previously touched upon Sour Patch for my Halloween post on Sour Patch Zombie Kids (awesome bit of packaging there). My reason for posting today is that I recently noticed they’d totally changed up the Sour Patch logos and mascots, and that’s a great time for a collector to take notice. So let’s do it.
Back in 1972 the Peter Paul company, best known for their Mounds and Almond Joy offerings, released a bar to the market named for what it didn’t include rather than what it did. The No Jelly bar.

In 1979, Paramount Pictures released Star Trek: The Motion Picture to movie theaters. Quite a lot of Star Trek licensing and cross-promotions followed and one of those marketing partners was the Mars company. One of the coolest things they released as part of their Star Trek push was a mail-away “Action Fleet” of cardboard fold-up starships.
Back in September, I posted about the 1970’s UK Nestle bars based on the Star Trek Animated Series. It shouldn’t be a surprise that the licensing behemoth of Star Trek produced other confectionery offerings along the way and today I’m going to look at ones that were based on The Next Generation franchise.
