It’s Easter-Eve, and I wanted to squeeze in one extra post before I wrap up my Easter Week tomorrow. I also wanted to share this fun little mid-2000’s offering called Tweeterz; candy-coated Twizzler bits made especially for the Easter holiday.

Our Easter Week Countdown is almost complete and today I thought I’d share a few fun pieces of packaging that Ferrara Pan has released over the last few years. They’re primarily Easter-themed packages, though I will include a pair of Ferrara Pan’s springtime offerings, as they often crossover into Easter sales.

This year in 2013, JustBorn’s Peeps are celebrating their 60th Anniversary, but back in 2003 they marked half-a-century with a big 50th Birthday celebration. One of the neat Peeps items in my collection from this period is a 50th Anniversary sales brochure and a set of “through the decades” Peeps graphical ad sheets. To see them all, make the jump.

For today’s entry in our Countdown to Easter I wanted to share a pair of groovy trade ads from 1970, featuring the Easter candy line-up for the year from Leaf. It’s a lot of great stuff, some of which you’ll recognize and a lot of which you probably won’t.

For day three of our Easter Countdown I put together a new CollectingCandy.com video for an unusual Easter candy offering, but one that is awfully cool – ThinkGeek’s Zombie Chocolate Bunny!

Starting with the 2011 Christmas season, Mars has been releasing sets of holiday-themed standard-sized M&M’s packages. Though they’d been producing large-size packs with holiday themes and graphics for years, these standard-size holiday packs were new. Since their introduction, we’ve seen two different Christmas holiday sets (both standard and Mint), a Valentine’s Set, and even a delicious Candy Corn Halloween Set.
Today, I’m going to take a look at the twelve different standard-sized M&M’s pack designs that Mars created for the Easter Holiday season.

Kicking off my week of Easter candy coverage is today’s post on Sunmark’s “New Easter Treats” for 1996. For those that aren’t familiar with the name, before Nestle acquired them, Sunmark was the company best-known for the Willy Wonka candy brand.
In the Fall of 1995 Sunmark released a magazine advertisement to the candy trade showcasing their new Easter holiday products for the coming year. Today I’ll be admiring that neat ad and highlighting its contents.

Just under a year ago here on CollectingCandy.com, I posted my first look back at the Snickers Munch bar. At the time I had uncovered six unique wrapper designs across the four decade lifetime of the brand, but I was missing large gaps of years. Since then, I’ve found two distinct wrapper designs I was missing as well as a few subtle packaging variations from over the years. Today I’ll be sharing these new discoveries, and since it’s been a year I’ll include some of what was covered during my initial look back at the wonderful Snickers Munch bar brand.

Checking my files and my memories of various candy promotions, I can’t recall any instance of a major candy company letting consumers vie for a chance to name a bar. But sometime around the year 2000, that’s just what Hershey of Canada did with an unnamed bar that was at least temporarily called Top Secret.
