It’s time for another edition of Wacky Wednesdays, and once again I’m going to tap Topps’ most recent Halloween Postcard release for today’s subject. We’re going to be taking a look at Slayday, one of the bonus parody offerings from Topps’ Wacky Packages Postcards Halloween Edition 2012.
Back in August of last year, I received a call from my mother asking if I’d seen or picked up the new Walgreens “Nice!” branded candy. At the time I hadn’t, but a few months later while back in Nebraska for Christmas I decided it was time to grab as many of these wonderfully-designed packages as I could. Today I’d like to share them with you.
Back in January I covered the Heide confectionery classic Mexican Hats, and today I’d like to share a similar look back at another Heide favorite, and one that can still be found today; Red Hot Dollars!
Since the explosion in popularity of energy drinks, manufacturers have sought to market all kinds of caffeinated food, even infusing it into candy and chocolate bars. I’ll certainly admit that there have been times in my own life that I’ve called upon a Red Bull when I felt I needed some extra alertness in my day or evening. It seems that in 2013 that we have become a society that is more caffeinated than ever.
So it was that in 2007 the Mars company thought they’d give one of their most iconic brands an extra shot of go-power with the caffeinated Snickers Charged!
Today is March 14th or 3/14, so it’s International Pi Day! Pi Day is the celebration of mathematics (or 3.14… the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter). But here at CollectingCandy.com, we figured we could best mark the day with some actual candy-related pie boxes!

Today I’d like to talk about a bar that’s been around at least 40 years. It’s a classic treat with a name that will certainly be familiar to those of you who grew up on the West Coast; Annabelle’s Big Hunk.
It’s a beautiful Sunday afternoon here in New York City. Though it was snowing just two days ago, today it feels like Spring is on its way. So I wanted to share something fun today, and something you can’t see anywhere else; the 1990’s superhero bar from Canada – P.B. Jammer!
From 2011-12 the Mars company celebrated 20 years of selling their products in Russia by releasing bars with special commemorative wrappers. I recently acquired a variety of these and thought they’d be fun to discuss, while also sharing some personal memories from the period. It’s going depart a bit from our typical post format, but I hope you enjoy the tale I’m about to tell.
