A Nickelodeon Green Slime candy bar? Not quite – but pretty close!

To my knowledge, Nickelodeon never licensed its Green Slime property to the confectionery business.  But wouldn’t it have been a great idea if they did? Even though Nickelodeon never produced an official Green Slime bar, the folks at Australia/New Zealand’s … Continue reading

Subway Spotted – The new Mike & Ike campaign!

I spotted this cool bit of subway advertising on New York City’s N-line heading into Times Square this weekend.  I first wrote about this year’s big Mike and Ike campaign back on March 18th; When Mikes and Ikes get competitive … Continue reading

Nik-L-Nip and other Wondrous & Weird Waxy Candy!

Ah… wax candy.  As a kid, I never really understood the appeal, and frankly I was a bit afraid of the syrupy contents of some of these.  But my friends and classmates seemed to enjoy them, and as I’ve found … Continue reading

Topps’ Answer to Fun Dip: 1980’s Dip-It Candy!

As I chronicled earlier this year, Sunline introduced Fun Dip to the world in 1973.  In those first few years, Fun Dip became a huge hit in the candy world, and of course its still around today. When something innovative … Continue reading

Donruss’ Bitty Bombs and Bitty Bites!

All the way back in the 1970’s, if a new hot cinnamon candy came out, I was sure to sample it.  While Just Born’s Hot Tamales remain my all-time favorite, Donruss’ Bitty Bombs were one of those 1970’s offerings that … Continue reading

Celebrating World UFO Day – CollectingCandy-style!

This week is a week of celebrations, and one in which I’ve oddly been a day late to acknowledge them.   Yesterday was World U.F.O. Day, a day where people are encouraged to search the skies for unidentified flying objects.  So … Continue reading

Japan’s Mini-Pez!!

I haven’t devoted much effort to documenting the PEZ part of the collectible candy world.  It’s not that I don’t like PEZ – I love PEZ dispensers.  It’s just that collecting PEZ dispensers is a topic that has been well-documented … Continue reading
