About Jason Liebig
A New York City based writer, editor and sometimes actor. After spending much of the 1990′s in the comic book business helping tell the stories of Marvel Comics’ X-Men as series editor, he has since split his time between developing his own entertainment properties while still consulting and working on others.
Having been described as “the Indiana Jones of lost and forgotten candy”, Jason is one of the country’s premier candy collectors and historians with his discoveries appearing in countless blogs, magazines, newspaper articles, and books.
Always happy to share his knowledge and unique perspectives on this colorful part of our popular culture, Jason has consulted with New York’s Museum of Food and Drink and has also been a featured guest on Food Network’s Heavyweights, France’s M6 Capital, and New York’s TheActionRoom.com.

Ah… wax candy. As a kid, I never really understood the appeal, and frankly I was a bit afraid of the syrupy contents of some of these. But my friends and classmates seemed to enjoy them, and as I’ve found … Continue reading →

As I chronicled earlier this year, Sunline introduced Fun Dip to the world in 1973. In those first few years, Fun Dip became a huge hit in the candy world, and of course its still around today. When something innovative … Continue reading →

All the way back in the 1970’s, if a new hot cinnamon candy came out, I was sure to sample it. While Just Born’s Hot Tamales remain my all-time favorite, Donruss’ Bitty Bombs were one of those 1970’s offerings that … Continue reading →

This week is a week of celebrations, and one in which I’ve oddly been a day late to acknowledge them. Yesterday was World U.F.O. Day, a day where people are encouraged to search the skies for unidentified flying objects. So … Continue reading →

I haven’t devoted much effort to documenting the PEZ part of the collectible candy world. It’s not that I don’t like PEZ – I love PEZ dispensers. It’s just that collecting PEZ dispensers is a topic that has been well-documented … Continue reading →
