This year Topps/Bazooka introduced a new product extension for the season, Halloween Ring Pop Minis! Today I’ll be looking at those as well as the other Halloween Ring Pop goodies that I’ve picked up these last few years.
New for 2013: Halloween Ring Pop Minis and More!
Halloween Smarties from the 80’s!
Smarties (the pressed dextrose candies found in the USA) are a classic treat that countless people have fond memories of. Because of their small, individually-wrapped size, they’ve always been a perfect treat to give out for Halloween. With that in mind, today I’d like to share a 1980’s Halloween-themed package for Smarties I recently discovered.
New for 2013: M&M’s Pumpkin Spice!
Always good for fun holiday releases, M&M’s doesn’t disappoint this year as they’ve brought out a brand new flavor for the Halloween season: Pumpkin Spice!
1970’s Witchmallows and Other Halloween Peeps!
As I documented during my Easter week of posts earlier this year, Marshmallow Peeps have been around for 60 years. Within that Easter Week post, I featured a Just Born anniversary brochure that indicated the 1990’s as the decade when Peeps “came alive for other seasons with branded Peeps for Halloween and other holidays.” Yet in spite of that fact, Halloween Peeps were actually around decades before then – just not branded as such and sold under a deliciously different name – Witchmallows!
New for 2013: Trolli’s Evil Twins Minis – A Wicked Halloween Box!
Trolli’s Evil Twins are a recent introduction into the world of candy and for their first Halloween they really knocked it out of the park with an unexpectedly wicked offering for Halloween.
1975’s Monster Tears – A Strange and Unusual Drinkable Treat!
Years before drink boxes were to be found in children’s school backpacks, the Flexible Packaging division of the H.R. Nicholson company was producing what might be the clearest predecessor to them. In 1975 they created a monster-themed version of their early drinkable confection and called it Monster Tears.
New for 2013: Halloween Warheads Chewy Cubes!
Every Halloween season brings new holiday-themed contemporary offerings to the candy shelves. One such offering I discovered this year was a limited edition Halloween box for Warheads Sour Chewy Cubes!
Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins — Revised & Revisited!
For Halloween 2012 Reese’s updated its Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins with a brand new package design — a change that was covered here during last year’s countdown. Since that time I’ve uncovered a pair of earlier versions which prompted today’s Reese’s re-visitation.
A Cornucopia of Russell Stover Halloween Pumpkins!
During a recent shopping trip to a Long Island Walgreens, I was assessing the Halloween candy assortment when I realized there were a lot of different styles of Russell Stover Pumpkins being offered. There were so many different examples — a cornucopia in fact — that I thought it warranted me dedicating a post to them all.
