Kicking off our Christmas Countdown today, I’ll be showcasing the return of the Peanuts gang to some mainstream confectionery holiday offerings.
I should mention that the Peanuts characters have already been featured on a series of seasonal releases from Russell Stovers – a fact I highlighted during the Christmas season last year. But this is the first time that the characters have appeared with one of the bigger confectionery brands in some time. So make the jump to check out the Peanuts gang’s Nestle Crunch holiday celebration!
Though it’s been some time since the Peanuts characters were licensed for use on any of the big brands, this is certainly not the first time. One that comes quickly to mind was way back in 1986, when the Nabisco company debuted a Snoopy promotion across its confectionery lineup.
It’s always fun to see the Peanuts characters being paired up with great brands. And that’s certainly the case with Nestle Crunch this year. So without further ado, here’s are the Nestle Crunch Peanuts items I picked up for the 2014 holiday season:
Each of those boxes contained a share-size Nestle Crunch bar. Also, each outer box featured the following graphics underneath the opening flap:
Beyond that set of three gift box chocolate bars, the Peanuts characters also appear on Nestle’s Crunch Holiday Jingles and their Nestle Crunch Minis packaging.
Here are the individual foil wrappers for the Jingles – they feature the Peanuts characters as well:
I think those are all quite fun. It might be just old-fashioned licensing/marketing, but seeing those characters on a classic product like Nestle Crunch makes it hard for me to resist picking them up.
And that’s everything I’ve got to share on these. I’m doing a bit of holiday traveling today, so I’m keeping it short. But I hope to make my Christmas Countdown posts line-up with the 12 Days of Christmas. Not sure if I’ll be able to get a post up for all twelve days, but I’ll try.
For now I’m off! See you next time!
I hope Nestle does a Peanuts related promotion next year (For its candy bars and maybe its Nesquik chocolate drink line) to tie in with the November 2015 release of The Peanuts Movie.
