About Jason Liebig
A New York City based writer, editor and sometimes actor. After spending much of the 1990′s in the comic book business helping tell the stories of Marvel Comics’ X-Men as series editor, he has since split his time between developing his own entertainment properties while still consulting and working on others.
Having been described as “the Indiana Jones of lost and forgotten candy”, Jason is one of the country’s premier candy collectors and historians with his discoveries appearing in countless blogs, magazines, newspaper articles, and books.
Always happy to share his knowledge and unique perspectives on this colorful part of our popular culture, Jason has consulted with New York’s Museum of Food and Drink and has also been a featured guest on Food Network’s Heavyweights, France’s M6 Capital, and New York’s TheActionRoom.com.

As the weather turns colder, I thought it would be fun to cover a near-forgotten treat from the 1980’s that will inspire warmer climates. This is one that first hit stores way back in 1982 and I’m excited to share … Continue reading →

Today I’ll be looking at the confectionery connections to Gremlins, both the 1984 Joe Dante-directed film classic as well as the Brown and Haley treat of the same name that preceded it – along with the time when the two … Continue reading →

Happy Halloween, everyone! It’s hard to believe that it’s already October 31st and the end of all the Halloween fun I’ve been having. Lots of non-site stuff to do still today, so this entry is going to be brief. And … Continue reading →

Today is October 30th, which is National Candy Corn Day – so I thought it would be the perfect time to bring together an extensive look back at how Brach’s Candy Corn packaging has changed over the decades. This year … Continue reading →

Though I’d invoked the Twizzlers brand earlier for our Countdown month with my Twizzlers Frankenstein packaging post – I thought their new seasonal flavor warranted the repeat. So make the jump to check-out Twizzlers limited edition Halloween release for 2014 … Continue reading →

During 2013’s CountdownToHalloween, I dedicated a post to the Halloween-seasonal marshmallow Peeps known as Witchmallows. The packaging I featured was from the 1970’s and I had assumed that was about as far back as Witchmallows went. But recently I discovered … Continue reading →
