For this second day of our Snickers Week coverage, we’re heading south-of-the-border for Mars-Mexico’s take on the “Who Are You When You’re Hungry?” promotional wrapper tie-in. Just like the USA’s series of wrappers, these Snickers bars feature potential qualities or traits of someone who is hungry, but also sprinkle in a few emoji character illustrations along the way. It’s especially fun, so make the jump to check them out!
Just like the USA’s long-running “Who Are you When You’re Hungry?” campaign, Mars-Mexico has rolled out television commercials showcasing the transformative power of a Snickers bar for someone who might need to stave off the occasional hunger impaired behavior. Here are a couple of them:
And just this year, they released a variant on that classic format incorporating the actual hunger-trait promotion bars – where you can see a few of the wrappers I’ll be showcasing today:
Before getting to the Mexican Snickers wrappers I’ll be showcasing, I want to give a shout-out to my pal Lance made it possible to present them today as he was nice enough to hunt them down during his Mexico travels. Thanks, Lance!
As with the USA editions, the hunger-trait wrappers were offered in various sizes; the standard, a 2-pack, and a snack size. I have examples from all three sizes offered so let’s get to them. First up, the snack size versions and what is easily one of my all-time favorite Snickers bar wrappers:
I think that Snickers “Punk” wrapper is just spectacular and made all the more so by the inclusion of a mohawk-wearing emoji character. Love it!
[Please note: In the image captions you will find English translations of the hunger trait logos for each of the wrappers.]
This next one is especially great, too – since it is all emojis.
Next up are wrappers from the standard size bars:
And finally, a few 2-pack wrappers I’ve got:
And there you have it. Not the full-set but a great range of wrappers from the Mexico edition of the “Who Are You When You’re Hungry?” wrapper tie-ins. I love the fact that these incorporated emojis into some of their wrapper designs. Great stuff.
If you are in Mexico and see wrappers that I’m missing and want to help me on my quest to building a full set, let me know!
That wraps up today’s coverage of Mexico’s hunger-trait-emoji Snickers wrappers and day two of our week-long Snickers Week! See you next time!
