New for Halloween 2016: M&M’s Walgreens Exclusive Glow-in-the-Dark Fun Size Packs!

Though I’ve already covered an M&M’s product in the Countdown this year, they’ve earned this second spot by coming out with something that is awfully fun.  Exclusive to Walgreens stores, M&M’s has released a Halloween-themed fun-size assortment where the individual fun size packs glow in the dark!  Make the jump to check them out!

As I’ve already pointed out, this special glow-in-the-dark Halloween packaging is a Walgreens exclusive item, and that is highlighted in this clipping from last week’s Sunday circulars that I saved:

And now on to the goodies.  The large outer-package doesn’t contain any glow-in-the-dark ink on it (at least I don’t think so…I never checked!) but it’s still a great-looking piece – it reminds of Goosebumps for some reason:

There are five different fun size packs contained in the assortment, featuring each of the main M&M’s mascots in a different Halloween costume.  Here they are:

I’ve actually looked at all of these in a completely dark room (after charging their special inks up in the light) and while the glow effect is not super-strong, it’s still fun.  They also used the glow ink on both the front and back of the packs.

I was going to try to do some long-exposure photography to capture the actual glow-effect, but didn’t really have time, so instead I’ve created a simulated look at how these appear when they’re in effect.  These simulated images capture the glow-in-the-dark areas pretty well, if not perfectly.  Here they are!

That’s all of the individual fun size packages.  I gotta say, the whole glow-in-the-dark thing may be a bit passé these days, but I still get a kick out of seeing it used in this way.   Kudos to the folks who came up with the idea for this one.
