Egg-shaped candy is normally the purview of Easter, but confectionery creativity has brought eggs into Halloween, too.\u00a0\u00a0 Today I’d like to cover two of Cadbury’s Halloween egg offerings; their Bat Eggs from the late 1980’s and their newly-released Screme Eggs, too.<\/p>\n

First up, let’s go all the way back to the 1980’s and Cadbury Canada’s Bat Eggs.\u00a0\u00a0 These appear to have been a Halloween version of Cadbury’s Mini-Eggs.\u00a0\u00a0 This package is another CollectingCandy.com world premiere and exclusive.\u00a0 That means you won’t find images of this package anywhere else online — check it out:<\/p>\n

Canada – Cadbury’s Bat Eggs – candy package – Halloween – Late 1980’s Early 1990’s<\/p><\/div>\n

So the concept of bringing the egg into Halloween and giving it a spooky style has been going on for some time.<\/p>\n

Last year in the UK and this year in the US and Canada, Cadbury took their timeless Creme Egg product and gave it a Halloween makeover, rebranding them as Screme Eggs.\u00a0\u00a0 I picked up a couple of them last month, and here’s the wrapper they featured:<\/p>\n

When I picked up my Screme Egg, I assumed I’d had what I needed, but a quick Google search revealed that Cadbury Canada’s Screme Eggs had a trio of wrapper variants we weren’t going to get here in the US.<\/p>\n

Look closely at that image and you’ll see three different wrappers that I’m calling;\u00a0 the mummy, egg brains, and goo-monster teeth.<\/p>\n

Not only is Cadbury Canada getting cool wrappers but they’ve created commercial spots and a Facebook campaign<\/a> called “Goopocalypse”.\u00a0 It’s a take on the Zombie Apocalypse.<\/p>\n

So, I can put these cool Canadian Screme Egg foil wrappers onto my want list.<\/p>\n
