{"id":3963,"date":"2012-05-16T00:47:23","date_gmt":"2012-05-16T04:47:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.collectingcandy.com\/wordpress\/?p=3963"},"modified":"2012-05-16T02:16:22","modified_gmt":"2012-05-16T06:16:22","slug":"1983s-dungeons-and-dragons-candy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/collectingcandy.com\/wordpress\/?p=3963","title":{"rendered":"1983&#8217;s Dungeons and Dragons Candy!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been a bit out of commission since late last week due to an accidental eye injury, and I&#8217;m slowly getting caught up on the many things I wasn&#8217;t able to do while patched-up with only one good eye.\u00a0 I&#8217;m still a bit blurry in the injured eye, but I&#8217;m healing.\u00a0 In other words, I&#8217;m back and ready to talk candy.<\/p>\n<p>In order to give myself a leg-up on getting up to speed here on the site, I decided to pull something especially fun from my archives that sort of speaks for itself.\u00a0 The item I chose also happens to speak quite a lot about me personally.<\/p>\n<p>I played AD&amp;D (Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, for you civilians) a LOT back in the 1980&#8217;s.\u00a0\u00a0 I guess you could call me an &#8220;old-school&#8221; RPG player, as I was a 1st Edition AD&amp;D guy&#8230; I eventually learned and played 2nd edition, but I never really warmed to AD&amp;D 3rd Edition rules.\u00a0\u00a0 Yeah, I&#8217;ve got some nerd-cred.\u00a0 I could go on, but rather than bore the non-role-players reading, I&#8217;ll get to the subject of today&#8217;s short post:\u00a0 Dungeons and Dragons Candy!\u00a0 Yes, it really existed:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3965\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.collectingcandy.com\/wordpress\/?attachment_id=3965\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3965\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3965\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3965\" title=\"CC_Amurol - Dungeons and Dragons - fantasy candy figures - candy box - early 1983\" src=\"http:\/\/www.collectingcandy.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/CC_Amurol-Dungeons-and-Dragons-fantasy-candy-figures-candy-box-early-1983.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"511\" srcset=\"http:\/\/collectingcandy.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/CC_Amurol-Dungeons-and-Dragons-fantasy-candy-figures-candy-box-early-1983.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/collectingcandy.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/CC_Amurol-Dungeons-and-Dragons-fantasy-candy-figures-candy-box-early-1983-300x149.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3965\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Amurol - Dungeons and Dragons - fantasy candy figures - candy box - early 1983<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more-->Produced by Amurol (makers of Big League Chew and Bubble Tape, among other great things) back in the heyday of D&amp;D, it would appear that this was a candy that arrived in the shape of &#8220;fantasy figures&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t actually remember Dungeons and Dragons Candy, and if I ever saw them on shelves in 1983, I probably didn&#8217;t think much of them.\u00a0 Now, however, I can appreciate them for the era that produced them, so I think they&#8217;re insanely-fantastic.\u00a0 I hope you think so, too.<\/p>\n<p>Late addition &#8211;
