Ah… Zombies… what’s not to love?<\/p>\n

I’ve been a fan of zombies as long as I can remember.\u00a0 I think my first exposure to them was through the pages of Starlog magazine (or maybe it was Fangoria) and their coverage of the then-new film by George Romero, Dawn of the Dead.\u00a0 That film became one of my long-time favorites when I finally saw it a few years later.<\/p>\n

These days, zombies are all the rage, and that’s just fine with me, especially when it means we get quality entertainment like AMC’s The Walking Dead.\u00a0 But how does this tie into CollectingCandy.com, you ask?<\/p>\n

Well, zombies have even made their way into the confectionery world (and no, I’m not talking about 30-year old Snickers bars as “zombie” candy).\u00a0 Though they haven’t made their way to the United Sates just yet, Australia’s Sweetmans company has been producing a line of zombie-inspired treats for a number of\u00a0 years now.\u00a0 They are — Zombie Chews!<\/p>\n

Zombie Chews are a line of sour-taffy like treats, similar to Air Heads or Laffy Taffy, and each flavor has it’s own fun zombie mascot.\u00a0 When I heard about them, I looked for a way to order them online, but finding none, I called upon my Australian pal, Elli, to help me out – and she did.\u00a0 Here are a\u00a0 few wrappers from the batch of fun Zombie Chews she picked up for me:<\/p>\n

I believe that Sweetmans has introduced another flavor (and another zombie) since I picked up these a few years ago, so I’m looking to get the latest assortments, too.\u00a0 For today, that’s all I’ve got to share on Zombie Chews.<\/p>\n

One more bit of fun:\u00a0 While traveling up to Niagara Falls in October of 2009, on the Canadian side I spotted a super-cool bit of Canadian Halloween packaging for Sour Patch Kids.\u00a0 Unfortunately I didn’t pick it up, as it was a big multi-box for Halloween, and I was already carrying too much that afternoon.\u00a0 I regret not getting it when I saw it, but I did snap a photo.\u00a0 So here’s one that got away from me – Zombie Sour Patch Kids:<\/p>\n
