the candy itself<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As a kid, how cool would it be to pretend to eat rocks?\u00a0 Maybe that doesn&#8217;t make sense to everyone, but I think it sounds awesome.<\/p>\n<p>Based on what I&#8217;ve been able to dig up, it appears that Brach&#8217;s Rocks first hit store shelves in late 1992 or early 1993.\u00a0 They were sold in standard retail plastic packages, as well as larger peg-packages.\u00a0 Here are a pair of trade ads related to both forms of packaging.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2894\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.collectingcandy.com\/wordpress\/?attachment_id=2894\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2894\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2894\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2894\" title=\"CC_Brachs Rocks trade ad - fun colors, groovy logo, and a great mascot &#8211; to my eye, it&#8217;s got it all.<\/p>\n<p>One final Brach&#8217;s Rocks piece I have to show is a full-page trade ad.\u00a0 I strive to find and share only the best pieces of references, but unfortunately this one isn&#8217;t a scan.\u00a0 This is a photo I took with my phone, while doing candy-related research at my library.\u00a0\u00a0 Pouring over old candy trade periodicals a year or two ago, I snapped this photo &#8211;
