Today is the day for the great American tradition of Superbowl Sunday!\u00a0 And as I have done every year since launching this site, I will mark today by sharing some football-themed candy.\u00a0 The last few years it’s been all about NFL team-themed Snickers product<\/a>, but today I’m switching it up by presenting two different styles of Reese’s Footballs – so make the jump to check them out!<\/p>\n

I’ve encountered Reese’s offered in a number of seasonal themes\/shapes over the years; hearts<\/a>, pumpkins<\/a>, and of course the classic eggs<\/a> – but I’d never encountered football-shaped Reese’s before. \u00a0 And whereas\u00a0I would typically find the Snickers NFL-themed offerings in early Fall at the beginning of the football season, I only discovered these Reese’s football products during the last several weeks.<\/p>\n

The first style I came across was the individually foil-wrapped Reese’s Footballs, which I spotted during a shopping trip to Target.\u00a0 Here they are:<\/p>\n

After picking those up, I assumed that was everything I had to discover regarding Reese’s football-themed product, but there was more.<\/p>\n

The following week, while searching to see if there were any other Reese’s football related promotions or tie-ins, I discovered that there was also a two-pound bag of individually packaged (and what appeared to be larger) football-shaped Reese’s – so I quickly ordered a bag on Amazon.\u00a0\u00a0 Here’s a look at those:<\/p>\n

That large bag isn’t much to look at but the individual fun-size wrappers are pretty cool:<\/p>\n

Each of these two football-shaped offerings is its own unique thing, and while neither really looks all that much like a football once they’re unwrapped, I can forgive them this detail.<\/p>\n

To my eye these appear to be pretty much the exact same shape as the two different versions of Reese’s Eggs that are typically available for Easter season.\u00a0 But lets be honest, these are Reese’s peanut butter and chocolate – does it really matter what they look like once you unwrap them?\u00a0 I think not.\u00a0 They are delicious.<\/p>\n

And that’s all I’ve got to share today on the two distinct forms of Reese’s Footballs.\u00a0 Time for me to get back to my Superbowl prep.\u00a0 If you’re wondering, I’m not really a fan of either team, but I’m rooting for Peyton Manning to end his career on a high note.\u00a0 We shall see if he does. \u00a0Mostly I just hope it’s a good game.<\/p>\n
