It was just a month ago that I talked about the delightful Walgreens store-brand Nice! candy packaging<\/a>, and today I get to follow-up on that coverage.<\/p>\n

Starting this month, Walgreens has expanded the Nice! candy range beyond peg packs to include an assortment of theater-style boxed offerings.\u00a0 I picked up a dozen different examples last weekend and today I’d like to share them with you.<\/p>\n

In line with the clean-but-fun Nice! designs I presented last month, these boxes each represent their contents in a fun, graphical way.<\/p>\n

That’s all twelve of the boxes I’ve found so far, and it might be the entirety of the line at the moment.<\/p>\n

“Private Label” or store brands have traditionally been a less-than-exciting affair, but more and more there is a trend for chains to create distinctive in-house designs for their private label packaging.\u00a0 The Nice! brand is a great example of this new trend so keep an eye out for them.<\/p>\n

Final Note:\u00a0 During the 1960’s and 1970’s over in the United Kingdom, the Sainsbury’s grocery chain might have been the first to expand the concept of what could be done with store-branded packaging design.\u00a0 Clearly ahead-of-their-time, the Sainsbury’s in-house packages from that era are something wonderful to behold.<\/p>\n
